The Cuoio di Toscana capsule collection designed by Paul Andrew celebrates the meeting of the Consortium’s leather excellence and international design.

Cuoio di Toscana, the Consortium representing the excellence of Made in Italy sole leather, presents He(ART), a capsule collection created in collaboration with Paul Andrew, one of the most influential voices in contemporary footwear design.

Unveiled during Pitti Uomo 110, the collaboration stems from the encounter between the tanneries’ manufacturing heritage and the creative vision of a designer who, throughout his career, has helped shape the aesthetic language of some of the world’s leading luxury brands.

He(ART) places material, craftsmanship, and the culture of Italian artisanal expertise at its core. This limited-edition collection interprets sole leather not merely as a technical component of footwear, but as a defining element of identity—a symbol of quality, durability, and timeless beauty.

The capsule includes a selection of men’s and women’s styles developed through complex manufacturing techniques and meticulous design research. Among them is Softy, a unisex loafer distinguished by its exceptionally flexible construction and hand-finished details; Facet, a sculptural sandal enhanced by a jewel-like heel inspired by Cuoio di Toscana’s iconic green color; and Intertwist, a family of styles created through the intricate hand-weaving of fine leather strips, expressing the union of artisanal savoir-faire and contemporary innovation.

“I have always believed that a shoe is the meeting point of aesthetics, craftsmanship, and identity,” says Paul Andrew. “In Cuoio di Toscana, I found values that I consider fundamental: authenticity, excellence, and a deep respect for Italian savoir-faire. This collaboration was born from the desire to showcase the extraordinary quality of a material that represents one of the most authentic expressions of Italian manufacturing.”

For Cuoio di Toscana, the project is part of a broader commitment to promoting the region’s manufacturing heritage through collaborations capable of enhancing its cultural and international relevance. For more than forty years, the Consortium has championed a production model based on quality, traceability, sustainability, and respect for artisanal expertise, helping preserve and pass down a unique body of knowledge recognized by the world’s leading footwear manufacturers.

“Collaborations such as this provide an important opportunity to showcase the value of our work and the expertise that this region has preserved for generations,” comments the Board of Directors of Cuoio di Toscana. “Through dialogue with internationally renowned designers, we aim to continue bringing visibility to a manufacturing excellence that represents a fundamental part of the Made in Italy identity and deserves to be recognized around the world.”

The presentation of He(ART) at Pitti Uomo marks the first chapter of a project that will continue in the coming months with further developments and initiatives dedicated to international markets.
