HUIZHOU ZHAO Awarded the TAOMODA AWARD for Innovative Creativity.

Huizhou Zhao, designer and founder of the HUI Foundation, received the 2025 Taomoda Award for Innovative Creativity during the Taomoda Week held in Taormina on July 19.

A prominent figure on the international stage, Huizhou Zhao is a global ambassador of Chinese style and a champion of an aesthetic language that weaves together fashion, art, and culture.

Since 2016, through the HUI Foundation, she has been actively committed to preserving China’s cultural heritage, with a special focus on the traditional craftsmanship of ethnic minorities.

Her work highlights these legacies through inclusive and socially engaged projects.

The award in Taormina recognized her contribution to promoting a vision of creativity that is rooted in tradition, yet reimagined as innovation, identity, and a bridge between cultures.

During the gala evening at the Ancient Theatre of Taormina, her FW25 collection “The Healing Weave” was presented: an immersive journey through reinterpreted Qing-era embroidery, Guizhou brocades, participatory performances, and narrative installations — where the act of weaving became a symbol of resilience and collective harmony.

With this award, Huizhou Zhao’s cultural and creative vision received further recognition, confirming HUI as a brand capable of transforming clothing into language, and fashion into a bridge between stories, places, and generations.
