The 78th Cannes Film Festival is currently underway from May 13 to 24, 2025, showcasing a diverse array of films and talent. 

French actress Juliette Binoche presides over the main competition jury, which includes notable figures such as Scarlett Johansson, Kristen Stewart, and Harris Dickinson. 

The festival opened with Amélie Bonnin's French comedy Leave One Day and features 22 films in competition, including works by Julia Ducournau (Alpha), Wes Anderson (The Phoenician Scheme), and Mario Martone (Fuori), the sole Italian entry in the main competition.

The festival has garnered attention for its bold programming, addressing themes like identity, trauma, and political unrest. 

Films such as O Agente Secreto by Kleber Mendonça Filho and Dossier 137 by Dominik Moll have been highlighted for their compelling narratives. 

Additionally, Sound of Falling by Mascha Schilinski is emerging as a frontrunner for the Palme d'Or, praised for its gothic storytelling and historical depth.

In terms of fashion, Le Silla, the renowned Italian luxury footwear brand, made a statement on the Croisette during the 78th edition of the Cannes Film Festival.

Its shoes were chosen by numerous celebrities for their red carpet appearances, helping to set this year’s fashion trends and among the star, Alexa Chung wore Le Silla Bella pumps styled by Jonathan Huguet.
