The collaboration with the Accademia Teatro alla Scala in Milan kicks off alongside the launch of the Ballerina capsule collection, inspired by an iconic model.
Every woman, with her style and choices, should always feel confident in herself and her path: Make your way.
With this manifesto slogan, Bata celebrates the 130th anniversary of its founding, marking not only a new era for the brand but also the evolution of its historic legacy, which consistently places women at the center of their personal and professional growth journeys.
“With Make your way, we celebrate female potential and look to the future with determination, continuing a tradition that supports women and men around the world by creating fashionable, high-quality footwear that aligns with our core values,” said the newly appointed President of Bata Europe, Marco Agnolin. “Supporting their steps, with style and commitment across the board, has always been our mission.”
The Ballerina capsule collection serves as a paradigm of Bata's ongoing engagement and reinvention, reinterpreting the iconic Batovka model.
Originally designed by the brand's founder, the Batovka shoe—crafted from fabric and leather—revolutionized the footwear industry in the last century.
At a time when shoes made entirely of leather were the standard, Bata offered a high-quality shoe at an affordable price, quickly capturing the market and solidifying its identity as a leader in the footwear industry.
For Bata's 130th anniversary, the Batovka has been reimagined as the classic ballerina, featuring a bimaterial design.
It is available in two distinct versions—one with elastic and a scarf, and the other with a minimalist silhouette and bow—offered in a range of colors and textures.
The face of this collection, which not only represents the bond between the brand's past and future but also stands as a symbol of elegant, independent, and inclusive femininity, is Megan Ria.
The talented and versatile ballerina, who rose to fame through TV talent shows, has built her career with dedication and passion.
Bata's decision to feature her in its campaign reflects the journey of a woman who found her path through dance, inspiring other women to do the same.
In line with this vision, “Bata proudly supports women in dance” is a project that enriches Bata's commitment to female empowerment in dance through a sponsorship with the Ballet School of the Accademia Teatro alla Scala in Milan, focusing specifically on the women's courses from the first to the fifth year.
For the 2024-25 academic year, Bata's contribution will support a training path that emphasizes holistic development, guiding students through every phase of their personal and professional growth.
The students of the Academy undergo an intense yet passionate study program, combining classroom training with constant stage experience.
Their education is further enriched by masterclasses and encounters with internationally renowned choreographers and dancers, enhancing their technical and expressive skills.
All of these students share a common dream: to become complete artists capable of writing new chapters in the history of dance.
“The new positioning, the capsule collection, and the collaboration with the Accademia Teatro alla Scala highlight Bata’s dedication to promoting female empowerment by creating real opportunities for women and encouraging them to pursue their dreams with confidence and determination,” concluded the President.
