A new Women’s line designed by Jean Luc Amsler opens a new chapter for the maison.

On the occasion of the Couture Fashion Night at The Circle Convention Center in Zurich, Pignatelli Atelier officially debuts — the new women’s couture line from the Pignatelli maison.

This special project is created under the creative direction of Jean Luc Amsler, a Swiss designer with a sophisticated taste and international style, renowned for his work in Parisian haute couture and collaborations with some of Europe’s most prestigious couture houses.

The presentation marks one of the key moments in the new direction taken by the maison, the result of the entrepreneurial vision of Francesco Gianfala, who is leading Pignatelli toward a coherent and contemporary international expansion — one that speaks to a new generation of clients while preserving the brand’s timeless sartorial soul.

Pignatelli Atelier is an upcycling collection composed of unique pieces, entirely crafted in the Pignatelli workshop within the vintage menswear department.

What makes it truly special is its deep connection with the maison’s historic archive: each garment originates from original tailoring bases preserved in the brand’s creative heritage, reinterpreted through a modern, cultured, and visionary lens.

This is fashion that goes beyond clothing — it tells the story of a powerful and self-aware femininity.

The silhouettes alternate between sculptural constructions and fluid lines, while masculine-inspired fabrics become expressive tools defining a strong, sophisticated, and unconventional identity.

The collection moves between two souls: on one hand, striking couture pieces with dramatic volumes and ritualistic details; on the other, essential yet evocative designs where theatrical codes subtly surface, bringing depth and artistry to everyday wear.

The new collection tells the story of a mysterious, free-spirited woman with an almost gothic allure, inspired by the figure of the Countess of Castiglione — the “Pearl of Italy” — an icon of beauty, independence, and rebellion, endowed with a free spirit and a refined aesthetic sensibility.

On the runway, the women’s line was accompanied by a selection of men’s garments from the Pignatelli archives, reinterpreted in a contemporary key by the brand’s creative director, Francesco Pignatelli, in line with the maison’s new direction. It was a meeting of roots and future, expressing the desire to expand the Pignatelli identity by enriching it with new languages and stylistic directions.

“The Pignatelli Atelier project represents for us a natural evolution — a bridge between the brand’s tradition and its future: to reinterpret, innovate, and push boundaries while remaining faithful to our DNA,” said Francesco Pignatelli, expressing his enthusiasm for this new creative chapter of the brand.

Pignatelli Atelier does not replace but rather complements the existing lines, addressing a young, discerning, and conscious audience — one that values quality, uniqueness, and the authenticity of true Made in Italy.

The collection will be available in Pignatelli’s monobrand boutiques in Turin and Milan.
