"Babylon 2.0" IUAD Academy debuted at Milan Fashion Week.

For the first time, IUAD Academy presented the exhibition "Babylon 2.0", included in the official calendar of the Italian National Chamber of Fashion, on the occasion of Milan Fashion Week Women's.

A unique opportunity for students, who had the chance to showcase their creations to industry professionals from all over the world.

The event took place in Milan on February 27, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, in the halls of the Bagatti Valsecchi Museum, located at Via Gesù 5—a historic venue that enhances the fusion of tradition and innovation in the landscape of contemporary fashion.

The exhibition "Babylon 2.0" offered a fascinating journey through the evolution of 20th-century fashion, exploring how the allure of the exotic has transformed into an eccentric and revolutionary expression of style.

This fusion is not merely an aesthetic trend but an evolution of intercultural dialogue, communicated through the universal language of art and fashion.

In this context, clothing became more than just an object of beauty—it became a means of exploring and expressing new identities and possibilities, reflecting the infinite diversity of human experience and the constant search for new forms of expression.

Each student developed a personal interpretation of the theme "From Exotic to Eccentric", contributing to a vivid creative mosaic that envisions the future of fashion—firmly rooted in tradition yet boldly projected into the unknown.

This very concept of the unknown was made tangible through an atmosphere rich in esoteric and mysterious suggestions: guests were welcomed by a fortune teller, who read the cards of La Vera Sibilla Italiana, a deck created in Milan in the 19th century.

The arcane symbolism of the cards interacted with the exhibited creations, evoking the profound influence that mystery and the subconscious have on fashion and personal expression.

The exhibition was arranged throughout the museum’s halls, with garments displayed on mannequins, while in the central hall, eleven models brought the outfits to life, transforming the showcase into a dynamic and immersive experience.

The evening was enriched by a performance from a Guzheng player, a traditional Chinese instrument, whose melodies transported visitors on a sonic journey between past and future, highlighting the cultural dialogue at the heart of the project.

Once again this year, the project was realized in collaboration with Archivio di Ricerca Mazzini, an international reference for fashion history preservation, and Diadema Academy, an excellence in the beauty sector that curated the models' makeup and hairstyles.

These synergies enhanced the event, providing young talents with privileged access to an invaluable heritage of knowledge and inspiration.

The official inclusion of the exhibition in the Italian National Chamber of Fashion’s calendar marked a significant milestone for IUAD Academy and its students, offering them the opportunity to present their talent to industry professionals and establish direct connections within the fashion world.

The event celebrated interculturality and innovation in the fashion system, demonstrating how fashion is a universal language in constant evolution.
