Meeting in Milan with Governor Bateer: the Italian fashion industry shows strong interest in the strategic opportunities offered by Hainan.

At the Hotel Excelsior Gallia in Milan, the Hainan Free Trade Port Fashion Industry Meeting was held on the occasion of the official visit of the Governor of Hainan Island, Mr. Bateer, accompanied by an institutional delegation of ten members.
The meeting, introduced by Cavaliere del Lavoro Mario Boselli, President of the Italy China Council Foundation (ICCF) — who led a mission to Hainan last July — brought together a selection of Italian entrepreneurs and managers active in the fashion and lifestyle sectors, offering a direct exchange with Chinese institutions to explore new opportunities for collaboration.
After an opening address by Cav. Lav. Boselli, Governor Bateer outlined the prospects of the Hainan Free Trade Port, presenting the project as a strategic platform to attract high-quality foreign investments, with particular interest in Italian manufacturing excellence.
“ICCF confirms its role as a strategic partner in connecting Italian companies with a key market like China. This meeting represents a first concrete step towards building strong and lasting bridges,”said Cav. Lav. Mario Boselli.

During the meeting, each Italian company in attendance shared its business model, showcasing the strength of the Italian fashion system, built on heritage, innovation, and sustainability.
Two key messages emerged: the strong interest of Italian companies in the Chinese market and Hainan’s recognition of the strategic value of Italian creativity and expertise.
Governor Bateer emphasized that this marks only the beginning of a promising collaboration.
With this event, ICCF further strengthens its role in facilitating economic relations between Italy and China, reaffirming itself as a key reference point for Italian companies by offering privileged access to dialogue with Chinese institutions and helping create favorable conditions for the development of new business relations in an increasingly global market.
