Italy and China closer: the new ICCF office in Guangzhou.

An important presence in the Greater Bay Area supporting the internationalization of companies.

There's a new addition to the mission of the Italy China Council Foundation (ICCF) supporting companies and their internationalization efforts: it's located in Guangzhou (Canton), specifically in the Nansha District.

Here, ICCF has established an office of strategic importance for its operations, aimed at supporting members and businesses operating in China and Italy.

This is a significant initiative that allows ICCF to further strengthen the connection between Italy and China – especially after the difficulties caused by the pandemic – and to actively become part of the Italian system on the ground, actively supporting projects and initiatives promoted by our country, including through the Embassy and consular offices.

Mario Boselli, President ICCF

"The opening of an office in China, in one of the areas of greatest importance for bilateral economic relations such as the Greater Bay Area, represents an important step for ICCF in achieving the objectives that our association has set for itself, namely to serve as a reference point for members, businesses, and institutions of both countries in order to increase bilateral relations," says Mario Boselli, President of ICCF.

"The opening of a presence directly in China allows us to optimize and facilitate contacts and activities that we can undertake, also improving the flow of information and news.

With the activation of the office in Guangzhou-Nansha, meeting the needs of our membership base, ICCF emerges strengthened and operates more in line with its mission."

The new office, under the supervision of ICCF's Delegate for China, Raphael Cooper, is located, as the only Western entity, within the structure called Home of Hong Kong and Macao Associations.

This area of aggregation is established at a governmental level and involves dozens of associations and entities from Hong Kong, Macao, and Guangdong.

Through this center, it's possible to access comprehensive services and support to promote contacts and business in China, particularly in the Greater Bay Area (which includes the Guangdong province, Hong Kong, and Macao).

Guangzhou-Nansha is situated on the Pearl River estuary, right in the heart of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), and it serves as the only access point to the sea for the city of Canton.

Covering an area of 803 square kilometers and with a population of 1.2 million inhabitants, Nansha is a key location for the development of the Greater Bay Area project.

Among other things, it hosts important bases for automobile production and export, as well as industrial clusters for advanced Chinese and international equipment. Numerous scientific research institutes and nationally recognized incubators, such as the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), are also located there.

Nansha is also a crucial hub for the establishment of financial platforms, the development of maritime logistics and international trade, scientific and technological innovation, and high-end manufacturing industries.

Established in June 2022, the Italy China Council Foundation (ICCF) was formed through the integration of the Italy China Foundation (established in 2003) and the Italy-China Chamber of Commerce (founded in 1970).

ICCF is a non-profit association that includes Italian and Chinese companies and individuals.

With its 400 members and partners and a turnover exceeding 70 billion euros, it is the most significant organization of its kind in Italy and one of the largest in Europe. Through its network, ICCF is dedicated to developing relations between Europe and Asia, particularly between Italy and China.
