The designer will receive an award and present his SS25 collection, 'E·materica,' during the third edition of the event dedicated to Made in Italy.

On Wednesday, May 7, 2025, the Teatro Vittorio Emanuele in Messina will host the third edition of the National Fashion Award "ME Fashion Award"—an event that this year will celebrate the talent and career of Martino Midali, a key figure in Italian prêt-à-porter for over forty years.

The event, conceived and curated by Patrizia Casale, owner of E-Motion, is sponsored by the City of Messina with the organizational support of the local administration led by Mayor Federico Basile, along with the National Chamber of Italian Fashion, the Chamber of Commerce, Sicindustria, and Confartigianato Messina.

The gala evening, hosted by Italian showgirl Elenoire Casalegno, will include the presentation of the prestigious ME Fashion Award to Martino Midali in recognition of his groundbreaking contributions to the fashion industry and his significant inclusive and social initiatives, aimed at promoting a more democratic approach to fashion.

During the evening, the audience will have the opportunity to admire ten creations from the SS25 collection E·materica, a tribute to Italian beauty and traditions, currently available in stores.

The collection masterfully blends natural elements with refined artisanal techniques, featuring textures that evoke stone, iron, clay, earth, and wood, in a palette dominated by taupe and ivory tones.

E·materica stands out for its tactile and sensory approach: hand-applied spatula techniques create evocative chiaroscuro effects, while signature craftsmanship lends fabrics a three-dimensional quality that invites exploration.

The collection’s silhouettes—flowing blouses, generously cut shirts, and soft ankle-length trousers—are enriched with an elegant mix of matte and glossy finishes, enhancing the depth and richness of the cuts.

The tribute to Martino Midali celebrates not only his aesthetic but also his inclusive vision of fashion: a democratic approach designed to embrace and enhance every woman, regardless of size, age, or style.

Added to this is his significant social commitment, which includes work reintegration projects for female inmates, awareness campaigns on reconstructive surgery for women affected by breast cancer, and initiatives against gender-based violence such as the Wall of Dolls in Messina and the t-shirts bearing the message “Love Doesn’t Hurt.”
